Not going to be pretty, Wolf attacks coming soon

Welp. This isn't going to be pretty.

According to Milton Wolf's website, the Kansas Board of Healing Arts has cleared the doctor of any wrongdoing related to the posting of patient X-rays on his Facebook page.

Ugh. I'm glad the board decided to put down their pitchforks. I'm not so glad that we're going to have a regurgitation of the Dr. Milton Wolf vs. Sen. Pat Roberts mud-flinging fest. Yuck.

From Wolf's campaign website

Over a year after Senator Pat Roberts and Republican insiders falsely and repeatedly accused Dr. Milton Wolf of violating patient confidentiality, the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts confirmed that  the inquiry has been officially closed without any findings of wrongdoing... by Dr. Wolf, that is.

The Wolf announcement proceeds to accuse one member of the Board of Healing Arts of "lying." Look, it's no secret that one member of the board, Brownback appointee Anne Hodgdon, was an outspoken critic of Wolf's during the primary campaign against Roberts. And I think it's fair to say that the board of healing arts would not have taken note of Wolf's Facebook activities were he not a political candidate. This is what happens in political campaigns. It's a disgusting part of the process, but it's not a surprising one. Opposition research will find the skeletons in your closet or the X-rays on your Facebook page.

Anyway, Wolf's website continues:

In the coming days and weeks, Kansas Republicans will learn the details of corruption within our own party. When they see the abuse of power, the disregard of law, the depth of dishonesty, and he heights to which this reaches -- all so a group of failed politicians could cling to power -- I suspect Kansans will recoil in disgust, and then grab their pitchforks... I'm still standing and I will not back down.

I am dreading the slow roll out of supposed ills. I have no doubt it's going to make Republicans look bad. (Um. They did during the primary election. Really disgustingly bad. I am not excited about a rehash.)

Meanwhile, we need our current Republican leaders, whether we like them or not -- ahem, Pat Roberts -- to show some backbone and courage right now. Roberts doesn't need to be swatting at flies right now. He needs to be in Washington with a baseball bat, voting against funding Planned Parenthood, and trying to put the skids on some of Obama's agenda. (Please, Senator. That's why we sent you there. Knock some heads on the Iran "agreement." Knock some knee caps over Obama's dictatorial EPA changes.)

And let me just say, I am not all that happy to learn that Wolf "will not back down." Look, I was a reluctant supporter of Wolf during the primary. There's just no excuse for an elected class ruling over us for a bazillion years with all the grace, humor and principle of Kim Jong-Un.

But if we're being honest here, and I think we can be: I am not much of a fan of Wolf. He privately threatened Kansas legislators who refused to endorse him. I just don't have patience for that.

Kansas Republicans had two choices in the 2014 Senate primary. Both choices were icky. Wolf is apparently going to run again. I just hope we have options besides Wolf and Roberts circa 2020. (BTW, I do not expect Roberts to serve out the remainder of his term, so hopefully, the precinct people Governor will have better choices whenever Roberts decides to hang up his Lazy Boy chair in Dodge City (or wherever he rents a chair in Kansas.)

  1. How can we substantiate your line, "He privately threatened Kansas legislators who refused to endorse him" ? I think Dr. W. is frustrated that the supposed "conservatism" the state is supposed to exude just doesn't extend itself towards truly conservative candidates. We split hairs because we don't like one little thing about a candidate, and we end up with a fake conservative like Roberts. Shame on us !
