Jenkins, Yoder Vote to Give PP a Raise

I'm not going to belabor this point all that much, because it's pretty obvious so few people care. Sadly. However, I can't let it go without saying something:

Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins and Congressman Kevin Yoder voted to give Planned Parenthood a raise. I can't decide which is more disturbing--that they had an opportunity to vote their conscience and chose to allow more taxpayer money to pad the pockets of people who literally kill children and sell their body parts, or that the good people of faith and conscience care so little that they couldn't be bothered to rally to the cause and call or email them.

Congressmen Mike Pompeo and Tim Huelskamp voted appropriately. Both Sens. Pat Roberts and Jerry Moran voted for the continuing resolution, but the resolution they originally supported made some provisions to avoid giving money to Planned Parenthood. (The provisions weren't quite enough, but better than nothing.) House members eliminated the provisions that would have stripped at least some of the ability for funding to go to Planned Parenthood.

I have supported Yoder and Jenkins in the past, but I am watching, and I've had about enough of their fear of a government shutdown. I can't speak for other voters; I can' only speak for myself. When I cast a ballot for a candidate, I do not care about "governing." I care about the biggest civil rights issue of our time--the wholesale genocide of American blacks and the disabled. I care about defending freedom at all cost.

Stick a neck out JUST ONCE, Yoder or Jenkins. Do something great, instead of being limp, weak noodles. Kansans deserve better, but we get what we vote for.

  1. Gidget is confused here when it comes to Roberts and Moran. Both of them had to vote for the same final CR as the House members. Read the link here Gidget
