Kansas GOP Insider (wannabe): Kansans Are Happy

Kansans Are Happy

Someone should alert the media. Turns out, the sky isn't falling, and the sun IS still shining in the Sunflower State, at least according to this scientific data which suggests two Kansas cities are the happiest cities in America.

Pro tip: Survey says Olathe is the happiest city followed by Overland Park. (Clearly, there is at least one flaw with this data: Somehow Manhattan is not in the top 10, although Kansas State University DID rank second in student quality of life and happiness in the Princeton Review.)

I realize the media would have us all believe that Kansans are miserable, our schools are failing, and that teachers and residents are fleeing the state because Sam Brownback exists. But like all lies told to advance a political cause, it's simply not true.

Remember this storyline from a few months ago: Teachers Flee Kansas? And then recall how a month later, shockingly one day after the primary election in which education was a major issue, this story, "More Teachers Coming to Kansas than Leaving, District Data Shows?" (You can see a side-by-side comparison of that topic's coverage here.)

Kansas truly is a wonderful place to live, despite the constant discouraging drivel pumped out almost daily by the liberalest of media organizations in the state.
