We Interrupt the School Funding Scandal...

At some point in the near future, I intend to write a short novel on the upcoming Kansas elections. In the meantime, here's the list of all candidates statewide.

I pulled these directly from the Kansas Secretary of State's website, so there's really not much to see here. Pardon my messy spreadsheet. It will improve! I haven't had chance to really sort or link any of the websites, but that's the plan.

In the meantime, if you've got information about any of these candidates, I'm a willing ear! My email address is gidget.southway@gmail.com

I guess the biggest news is that there are at least 40 Democrats in Kansas. Who knew? Someone the Ds found a candidate in every Kansas Senate district. This is nothing short of a miracle.

The Republicans didn't do a very good job of recruiting, because there are a shameful number of Democrats running unopposed. The unopposed Democrats were likely assured re-election, but still. Seems wrong to just hand those incumbents the keys to a seat in the Kansas Legislature.

The biggest disappointment? Steve Howe is running unopposed. Kansas is saturated with lawyers, and surely one or two of them are more palatable than our current district attorney.
